Just as the leaves are changing on the trees outside of my window, so has the color of hair on my head. That sounded very Days of Our Lives didn't it? Like sands through the hourglass...My mom still watches Days after who knows how many years. My favorite episodes were when Marlena was possessed by the devil. How ridiculous right? Speaking of the devil and supernatural stuff, today is the first day of October, and in case you didn't know, I love Halloween as much as I love margaritas and queso. I ate queso and drank a margarita 3 times last week. Excessive? Maybe, but I'm a grown-up so I do what I want. Basically, what I am getting at is that you should expect boku Halloween posts. Haha get it? Boo-coo! Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself. But anyway, back to the point. Every year when the seasons change from warm to cold or vice-a-versa, I, without fail, get incredibly annoyed with my hair. This year was especially bad after growing my hair out for the wedding. It felt frizzy and crunchy and just plain blah. I needed a change. Something more grownup perhaps? I am a married woman, after all. Bottom line, I went red...well maybe more auburn, but the most red I have ever been! I also am now rocking a long bob aka a lob as much more chic east coast friends call it. I love it. It feels great, and it is wash and wear, so it goes great with my lazy beauty routine. So in the spirit of changing seasons, here are some great fall hairstyles to inspire your own hair transformation. Enjoy!
Emma Watson's Edgy Bob
If you have smaller bone structure or more delicate features, show them off when a short and shaggy bob that hits just above the chin. Feeling really bold? Go for a copper or an auburn to really stand out.
Candice Cameron's Layered Lob
Want the same effect of a bob but have a round face? This lob is the perfect length for girls with cheeks. The longest layer hits just below the chin and creates a slimming effect by accentuating the jawline.
The Modern Shag
Want to keep your length while still creating the same eye catching effect as a bob? Try a shaggy cut with layers beginning just below your eye. This look reminds me of 1970's beachy hair without being too Charlie's Angels.
Julianne Hough's Platinum Bob
Megan Fox's Gorgeous Highlights
If you are looking for a great fall color, look no further than Megan Fox's chocolate hair with streaks of reddish brown painted in. It creates a beautiful warming effect that gives her look dimension and light.
Rachel McAdam's Pumpkin Spice Hair Color
Now your hair can match your Starbucks! Rachel's pumpkin hair color is the happy medium between red and blonde for those of us who like to stay a little bit lighter. It really warms up pale skin and certainly looks like fall.
Salted Caramel: The New Ombre
Low maintenance? Hate keeping up with your color? Embrace the darker roots with this great color for fall. Dark chocolate at the base that gradually warms to blend with the leftover sun-bleached ends. This works on any skin tone, but especially for those of us who need a little warmth in our color to keep us from looking like Casper during the winter.
So what do you think? Are you planning on changing your hair color this Fall? I am always a big fan of turning over a new leaf, and what better time for that than Autumn? Have a great Wednesday!
